Sylvan Beach and Brewerton, NY on the Erie Canal

On Monday, we crossed Lake Oneida (about 20 miles) and stayed at the wall at Sylvan Beach.  There is no electric or water, but the dockage is free.  There is an old amusement park opened in the 1950’s with rides some of you will remember – Tilt-A-Whirl, Wild Mouse, and the Super Slide!  This town is located on Lake Oneida and the Erie Canal.  We had a sunset dinner at Harpoon Eddie’s with our boat buddies, Don and Kathy.

We arrived in Brewerton on Sunday, August 31st at Ess-Kay Yards.  This is a great marina with full services – diesel, courtesy car, electric, water, showers, ice, mail service and one of the best ship’s stores on the canal!  The only thing missing was Wi-Fi.
