On Friday,
September 5th we traveled 38 miles and went through six locks –
only seven more left to go on the Erie Canal for a total of 35 locks! Today was very hot and humid and the Schenectady Yacht Club has a wonderful pool – timing is everything! Here are some pictures of the locks we have
recently locked through. One of the
locks is not only the highest lift lock on the Erie Canal, but is one of only
two locks in North America where the entrance gate is lifted above the
boater.
